Chuck Radford takes the Mayoral seat in Glenboro - South Cypress
We recently sat down with Chuck Radford, who is gearing up to begin his second term as Mayor of the Municipality of Glenboro-South Cypress.
“I hadn’t originally planned to run for a second term,” Chuck shared, “but after being approached by numerous community members, I reconsidered, and I’m truly grateful I did. Our municipality needs strong leadership and clear direction.”
Reflecting on his first term, Chuck expressed enthusiasm for his experience. “My first term as Mayor was incredibly rewarding, and I cherished every moment. Our staff is exceptional, and the Council members are outstanding. However, I was taken aback by the volume of paperwork and red tape involved; it was quite an eye-opener! Additionally, I was surprised by the lengthy response times of governmental bodies when addressing issues.”
One of the highlights of his tenure has been the opening of the new clinic, which Chuck describes as a game changer for the community. “We’re thrilled to have it open. People are coming from all over, and they shop in our stores and dine in our restaurants.”
Another significant project during his term has been the construction of a new lagoon, which was urgently needed. “For me, being Mayor is a 24/7 commitment that I truly enjoy,” he noted, “and I am always available to our constituents.”
As he embarks on his second term, Chuck expresses heartfelt gratitude to his supporters, the municipal staff, and, of course, his family.
