Rick Lee seeking re-election in R.M. of Victoria
Rick Lee has been a Councillor for the RM of Victoria for 8 years and is seeking re-election.
During a recent interview, Rick opened up, sharing details of who he is and why he is seeking re-election.
Rick Lee is from Holland, with his family operating a 10,000-laying-hen farm, adding, “I have been a Director for the Manitoba Egg Farmers’ Board.” Rick went on, saying; “I am a General Contractor and have been a Councillor for the RM of Victoria for 8 years. I sit on numerous subcommittees with the RM, including the Holland Recreation, Holland and Cypress Fire Protection, Dr. Ostapovich Medical Clinic, and as the Chair of the Tiger Hills Handy Transit.”
How do you think your background will help you as a Councillor if you are re-elected?
“With experience in farming, sitting on multiple boards, construction and community service, I feel I have a strong understanding of local priorities. I have chosen to run for my third term as councillor as I am passionate about our communities, and I am committed to supporting economic growth, infrastructure development, and community wellbeing.”
If you are re-elected, where do you plan to focus your attention?
“My focus is always to promote our municipality, communicate with the ratepayers, support local businesses, and hold the municipality to fiscal responsibility. Serving on different boards as a Councillor and a Director has given me a wide range of contacts and helped me understand most of our municipality’s members. Going further into next term, if re-elected, I would continue to concentrate on our aging infrastructure. I would like to see our access roads to both towns improved, and to continue the push for natural gas, the repair of Highway 34, and improvement to local cell service in our area. All of these items will not only improve our municipality, but also create an inviting place for new businesses and new families to call home.”
Before leaving, Rick added the following, “I am proud to be a part of this municipality where I can give back to the community and raise a family of my own.”
