Belmont’s Harvest Moon Fall Supper serves 358 meals
On Sunday, September 20th, Belmont Hall was rocking as the Music in the Park Board hosted its annual Harvest Moon Fall Supper.
The Hall was packed with attendees; the aroma was intoxicating, and catching up with old friends was amazing.
The food was plentiful and never-ending; just as a dish showed the slightest sign it might be running low, a volunteer quickly swooped in with a replacement. The lines never stopped moving.
The food all looked incredible, but it tasted even better!
So many positive comments were made. Here is just a snippet:
“Best Fall Supper around!”
“It was so good, I wish I had room so I could have eaten more.”
“Really well done. It was excellent, just excellent.”
Organizer Vicki Gillingham shared the following:
“We served up 358 suppers, and there was no way we could have done it without our many volunteers who cooked turkeys and potatoes, as well as the donations of salads, vegetables, and desserts.
There was also the thankless job of dishes.
We use real china, not paper, so there were heaps and heaps of dishes, and our volunteers fought through till the bitter end.
It was great to see people coming from near and far, waiting patiently in line for the delicious home-cooked meal.”
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to organize and serve this Fall Supper. You truly outdid yourselves; it was simply wonderful.
