Ninette Fair a huge success despite cooler temperatures
The 2026 Ninette Fair is in the books, and let’s just say it was amazing!
The weather did not cooperate, but for everyone there, it really didn’t matter.
Starting Friday night, the annual Beef Supper was served, and, as in every year before, it was amazing. According to organizer Eva Miller, the number of meals served was down this year, with approximately 150 served.
Saturday kicked off with a pancake-and-sausage breakfast in Ninette Hall to fuel everyone for a busy day of festivities, with a final count of 175 breakfasts served. Also in the Hall were the exhibits entered, ranging from ages under 5 and up. The sheer number of exhibits and the high quality of each were truly inspiring.
There was so much going on that it was hard to stay on top of everything.
This year’s Gymkhana featured approximately 50 entries (final numbers to be tabulated), with the miniature horse competition attracting over 100 entries.
The Junior Cattle Show was also very popular, with over 40 head involved.
The bike decorating contest was fantastic, with the top three winners taking part in the parade that immediately followed.
The parade highlighted several groups, including the Prairie Lakes Fire Department, Prairie Lakes Reeve Darren Seymour and our local MP Grant Jackson, among many other entries.
The Show and Shine was a huge draw, with so many gorgeous rides, including some that have already been featured in our weekly vehicle series. It was great to see these gorgeous wheels and touch base with the proud owners.
The kid’s zone, outfitted with bouncy castles and fun activities, helped keep the younger crowd entertained.
There was great food, great music, great friends, and so much for all ages to see and experience.
