A sneak peek at the Spirit Sands Medical Clinic
“What started as a vision just a few short years ago has now come to fruition with the new Clinic on track to open in the spring of 2026,” a beaming RM of Glenboro – South Cypress Councillor Dale Fisher exclaimed proudly. Dale has been an avid supporter, activist, and advocate for this project since its inception.
Dale was kind enough to give us a guided tour of this flagship facility, which is nearing completion.
A spacious entryway opens into a generously sized waiting area, with a donation board clearly visible as soon as you walk in.
A huge reception window allows staff behind the counter to see and monitor the patients in the waiting room. Public washroom facilities are located at the end of the waiting room for patient convenience.
The reception area is spacious and well laid out, and the locked storage rooms behind provide secure storage for materials.
Twelve ample windows of varying sizes and configurations allow natural light to flood the space, with automatic lighting (turns on automatically when the room is entered) in each room to enhance illumination.
“This project has come a very long way in a very short time and is a very nice addition to the community and the surrounding areas. A lot of hours have gone into this project, and seeing it come together, being built from the ground up, it is just amazing,” shared Dale.
“This Clinic is a lifesaver. I have been in chemotherapy treatment, and I have waited 12 hours in the Brandon Hospital emergency department for care. I know firsthand the need for accessible healthcare. Family, friends and my community, this is why I have so passionately crusaded for this facility, because I know the importance of having first-rate healthcare locally.”
The Clinic is spacious and very well laid out, allowing for eighteen individual rooms to be created. These spaces will include examination rooms; a large break room with all amenities and staff lockers; a staff washroom; separate electrical and IT rooms; and storage. An in-house, state-of-the-art water treatment facility will also soon be installed.
“Considering the size of this project, there really isn’t much left to be done. We have already installed a rapid-charging electric car charger in the parking lot for staff use. A cutting-edge, lightning-fast computer system is being installed, sinks in the examination rooms are being installed immediately, and the bathroom fixtures will also be installed. The equipment, including chairs, tables and other items, has all been ordered and we are just waiting on delivery.”
This building stands as a testament to all those who have worked so diligently to get this project to where it is today.
