Cypress River Farmers Market has something for everyone
The joy of attending Farmers’ Markets is truly unmatched! This week, we visited the Cypress River Farmers Market, and it exceeded our expectations.
The two new vendors received an overwhelming response, and they were thrilled to be part of this year’s event!
One seasoned crafter showcased an impressive array of beautiful creations, including the most exquisite little pincushions, expertly repurposed from her mother’s sample squares. She also transformed larger squares into stunning, one-of-a-kind table toppers.
The intoxicating aroma from two tables brimming with home-baked goods was simply irresistible, with items flying off the tables as fast as they could be replenished. A vibrant display of fresh strawberries, rhubarb, saskatoons, and beets was a hot spot, with buyers excitedly discussing their plans for pies and jams.
One of the most creative displays featured a Volkswagen Beetle, its front trunk open, inviting visitors to explore. The ingenuity didn’t stop there; old children’s storybook covers were cleverly bound with blank sheets to create unique journals. Another standout idea was the ‘Blind date with a book’ – a mystery book wrapped in brown paper, and beautifully decorated. On the outer wrapper a single quote from the book held so secretively held inside was the only clue as to what story the wrapper contained, daring readers to step outside their comfort zones and pick up their newest read sight unseen.
If you’re searching for the perfect gift for that hard-to-shop-for person, or even a treat for yourself, look no further than the vibrant farmers’ markets in our surrounding small towns. They truly offer something for everyone, from bat houses and pot holders to delectable fresh baking and so much more waiting to be discovered!
