Councillor Gillingham hosts meet and greet
The meet and greet with Andrew Gillingham, a Councillor for the RM of Prairie Lakes, was originally scheduled before the new year but had to be canceled due to harsh winter weather.
On March 5, Councillor Andrew Gillingham, along with his supportive wife Vicki, successfully hosted a meet and greet at the Strathcona Drop-In Centre in Belmont.
Between 2 and 4 p.m., nearly 40 community members attended, enjoying fresh coffee and tea accompanied by some delicious homemade cookies.
Attendees expressed their enthusiasm, with many commenting, “What a great idea.”
Andrew and Vicki were delighted with the turnout, underscoring the importance of fostering connections within the community.
Support from RM employees and fellow councillors further enhanced the event’s impact. Inspired by the positive atmosphere, other councillors expressed their desire to organize similar gatherings in their wards, emphasizing the importance of building relationships with constituents: “It is important for our committee members to meet and get to know our councillors.”
Attending this event was a rewarding experience, facilitating meaningful interactions between attendees and councillors alike. Let’s continue to nurture this sense of community engagement!
