Baldur Recreation Centre is planning events for 2025

When winter hits, our local recreation centres don’t sleep with practices, games, tournaments, bonspiels, lessons, public skating and more being held every day.

The Baldur Recreation Centre (Baldur Rec) is hoping to be kept hopping year round and 2025 is warming up to be busy.

Baldur Rec Treasurer, Lana Grenier is pretty excited about what is being planned for this upcoming year.

Board member Hailey Gardham is being kept busy adding an Instagram account (Baldurrecreation) and Facebook page (Baldur Recreation Centre 2025). Both contain a link to the Baldur Rec calendar that shows what is going on at the facility.

There are ample public skating time slots to help ensure everyone can get out and get moving. For more information, check out the calendar on Facebook or Instagram.

If you are looking for something different to do, why not take in a hockey game or two. Our local teams of all ages give it their all and it is no argument that it is the best hockey around!

Watching hockey can make you hungry so you might as well plan to stay for lunch or supper.

Let’s not forget to watch for your favourite players on the curling side. Keep in mind, our Men’s and Ladies Bonspiels are memorable occasions.

The Rec Centre kitchen serves some amazing rink burgers and the coffee is second to none. There are also other items to choose from that are sure to please any palate.

Lana wanted everyone to know there will be a Bean Bag Bulls-Eye (also known as Corn Hole) League starting the last weekend in March or the beginning in April (depending on when the ice is gone and everything is cleaned up). The League will run for three weeks, with play offs taking place after that. Watch Facebook and Instagram for updates.

A Family Day is being planned when hockey and curling have wound up. One of the activities planned is ‘Paint the Ice’.

There are two amazing new events in the planning phase, to be rolled out this Fall, but there are no details being shared yet.

Lana has also been in discussions with Colleen Vanwynsburghe from the Baldur-Argyle Recreation District to organize a 2025 Christmas event.

2025 has just been rung in, and the Baldur Recreation Centre has hit the ground running.

Don’t miss a thing. Check out their Facebook page at Baldur Recreation Centre 2025 or catch them on Instagram at Baldurrecreation.

It’s always a good time!
