Dunrea Fire Department recognize members

On December 7, 2025, members of the Dunrea Fire Department and their guests gathered for the department’s annual Christmas Dinner.

This event also serves as a tribute to the unwavering dedication of our volunteer firefighters who bravely serve our community.

During the evening, RM of Prairie Lakes Reeve, Darren Seymour, honoured Dunrea Fire Chief Gerard Paradis with the prestigious Governor General Long Service Award, recognizing his remarkable 40 years of commitment.

Reeve Seymour shared his sentiments, saying:

“The volunteer firefighters who fill our community fire halls play an essential role in ensuring the safety of everyone in our municipality and the neighbouring areas through their collaboration under Mutual Aid Agreements.

These selfless individuals sacrifice so much, often putting family obligations aside, to effectively serve and protect their communities. Their commitment goes beyond responding to emergencies; they dedicate countless hours to attending training and educational sessions and hosting numerous fundraising events.

The incredible dedication displayed by each member of our fire departments deserves our most profound appreciation. Kevin Cameron (RM of Prairie Lakes CAO) and I were truly honoured to attend the Christmas Dinner on December 7, where we could personally express our gratitude and present the service awards.”
During that evening, there were several other milestones celebrated:

* 30 years of service: Jim Morrisson

* 20 years of service: Rick Mogk

* 10 years of service: Kevin Cuvelier

Congratulations to all the members of the Dunrea Fire Department who received service awards in 2025!

As we reflect on their sacrifices, we all want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our volunteer firefighters.

Your hard work and commitment may not always be acknowledged, but please know how deeply appreciated you are.

Let’s remember to show our gratitude to our local firefighters for all they do!
