Bolack Farms receive Watershed District Award

We reached out to the Central Assiniboine Watershed District, located in Baldur, Manitoba, and spoke with Hailey Gardham, the Grow/PWCP Coordinator for the district.

Hailey provided us with information about the annual awards presented by the Manitoba Association of Watersheds and this year’s local winner, Bolack Farms from Glenora, Manitoba.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Manitoba Association of Watersheds Conference being held from December 1st to 3rd in Brandon at the Keystone Centre. The event featured many notable speakers and concluded with a banquet where attendees were encouraged to enjoy a delicious meal while continuing to network and mingle.

“Each year, the Manitoba Association of Watersheds recognizes the outstanding contributions of various Watershed Districts and staff that have positively impacted the growth and success of the Watershed Districts in Manitoba through the Watershed District award, Watershed District Builder award, and the Watershed District Staff Builder award.

“The winners of each award are announced at the annual Manitoba Watersheds Conference.”

The criteria are as follows:

“Award nominees are required to exhibit, exemplify and execute good environmental stewardship practices that relate to the Vision of the Manitoba Association of Watersheds. The Manitoba Association of Watersheds’ vision is to enable all stakeholders to enhance our environment for future generations by supporting sustainable management practices.”

As Hailey aptly stated, “In short, Bolack Farms has done a great job of keeping their land, cattle, and waterways healthy and continues to do so through the watershed programs and their own initiatives!”

Congratulations to Bolack Farms on this well-deserved award!
