Pumpkins galore in Cypress River

When most of us hear the word pumpkin, we think of the classic, bright orange jack-o’-lanterns ready for Halloween. But that’s just the tip of the pumpkin patch!

This weekend, we chatted with local pumpkin expert Caleigh McCreery, who has outdone herself this year with an incredible display of about 25 unique pumpkin varieties – all grown on just one acre of land. From tiny, colourful gourds to majestic, large white pumpkins, there’s truly something for everyone.

Each pumpkin variety has its own unique charm, both in its appearance and its flavour. For example, small sugar pumpkins are sweet and perfect for baking pies or whipping up delicious desserts. The forest green pumpkins have a mild, nutty flavour that makes them ideal for soups or roasting.

“I love all the different sizes, shapes, and colours,” says Caleigh. “And every year, they’re a big hit!” As you can see from the photos, Caleigh’s harvest is truly a sight to behold, especially around Thanksgiving and Halloween when everyone’s looking for that perfect pumpkin for decorations, jack-o’-lanterns, or pie. For the best selection, come early – you won’t want to miss these beautiful pumpkins!

If you would like to explore the selection of pumpkins available, please contact Caleigh at 204-723-0005 or visit 131 Cypress Avenue in beautiful Cypress River.
