Aggies Bed Push is more than just a tradition
The Aggie Bed Push is more than just a tradition, it’s pure fun on wheels!
Every year, Agricultural students from the University of Manitoba bring excitement to many communities by pushing a custom-built bed (yes, a bed!) on wheels, through several towns.
Their journey is all about teamwork, smiles, and supporting important causes.
This year’s 2025 Aggie Bed Push rolled out from the University of Manitoba campus on Friday. The spirited crew zigzagged their way from La Salle, and then through Starbuck, Elm Creek, Carman, Roseisle, Portage and Carberry, ending a fantastic first day in Douglas. Saturday was another adventure, starting bright and early, in Wawanesa, Glenboro, Cypress River, Mariapolis, Pilot Mound and Manitou. By nightfall, they’d rolled into Morden, tired but so proud!
Sunday was a whirlwind, with stops in Rosenfeld, Morris, Ste. Agathe, and finally, a happy finish in Niverville before heading back to their starting point in Winnipeg.
No matter which town they visited, they were greeted with cheers, waves, smiles, and words of encouragement (and of course donations).
We were able to catch up with the Team as they came into Glenboro.
You could not miss the upbeat vibe when they posed with Sara the Camel in Glenboro.
Before leaving to tour the town, Glenboro South-Cypress Mayor Chuck Radford was on hand to personally offer words of welcome and support for the event.
With that, the Glenboro South-Cypress Rescue Unit, with its lights flashing, escorted the group through the streets of Glenboro with large groups of supporters waiting along the way to greet them!
For over 30 years, the Aggie Bed Push has raised funds for numerous Manitoba charities, including the Heart and Stroke Foundation, CancerCare MB, and MB Farmers with Disabilities. This year, every dollar raised will be shared between STARS and the MB Farmer Wellness Program, two charities that assist people across the province.
With school pride in abundance and hopes high for a record-breaking total, the Aggie Bed Push remains a joyful celebration of giving back, community spirit, and unstoppable energy. Here’s to another fantastic event and all the good it brings along the way!
