On January 9, the RM Prairie Lakes held an informational forum titled: Belmont LUD to be or not to be.

A sizable group attended this verywellpresentedmeeting. Hosting the meeting was the RM of Prairie Lakes Reeve – Darren Seymour, Ward 5 Councillor Andrew Gillingham, LUD representative Al Madden, CAO Kevin Cameron and Bill Hamilton.

Reeve Darren Seymour explained that for those unable to attend the meeting, a recap of the information given by Ward 5 Councillor, Andrew Gillingham will be made available at the RM office.

T h e P o w e r p o i n t presentation was as follows: The Belmont LUD Committee along with the Prairie Lakes Municipal Council is proposing to dissolve the Belmont LUD.

This information session will discuss the Pros and Cons of dissolving.

Hopefully via this session community members will be motivated to come forward and champion this activity in partnership with the LUD and Council.
