Baldur Argyle Fire Dept. currently boasts 28 members

In our small communities you will find many Committees and groups, but the most important group for far is our local Fire Departmbut also other 911 situations.

The Baldur Argyle Fire Department currently has 28 members including 5 probationary members. What sets this department apart from many others is that there are two fire halls involved – one located in Baldur with the other situated in Glenora. Given the geographical size of the area covered by this Fire Department, having the two Halls has proven to provide greater efficiency when dealing with emergency calls.

Fire Chief Mark Everett and his Deputy Chief have always done an excellent job managing and balancing the two Fire Halls, and the members of the Department, as well as the essential needs, duties and actions required and associated with the entire Baldur Argyle Fire Department.

The members of our departments are all volunteers, giving their time freely to ensure the safety of their community members, and potentially risking their lives.

Something else that many of us probably don’t realize is that our local Fire Departments are the first on the scene for not only fire calls,

The Chief was well aware that the volunteer firefighters within his Department held a wealth of untapped knowledge and talents that could be well used to make the Department more streamlined – the perfect solution was an Operations Committee.

This move by their Chief has received rousing support from all Department members.

The Baldur Argyle Fire Department officially formed the Operations Committee in April 2018.

Fire Chief Mark Everett openly admits this Committee has been a huge positive in so many ways. The newly formed Committee has not only allowed the duties and leg work of the Department to be distributed, but it has also opened up many other doors and brought out so many more ideas!

The following information on the Operation Committee has been provided by the Baldur Argyle Fire Department:
“Baldur Argyle Fire Department Operations Committee is a group of 7 elected members of the fire department as voted in by their peers and 1 appointed by the RM of Argyle. The operations committee will be composed of the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, 2 Captains, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications Officer and RM of Argyle Council Representative. Responsibilities will be assigned by the Fire Chief to all members of the Operations Committee and Volunteer Firefighters.
