Firefighters hold successful barbecue at Glenora Fire Fall
The Baldur – Argyle Fire Department held a very successful Fundraising BBQ at the Glenora Fire Hall Saturday, June 1.
The burgers were delicious and barbecued to juicy perfection while the tube steaks were lightly roasted giving each one an impeccable ‘snap’ in every bite.
People raved about the freshly made burgers, wondering out loud if they should ask for the recipe.
The final numbers have not yet been tallied. Speaking for his entire department, Fire Chief Mark Everett would like to thank everyone who supported the BBQ.
Our small towns are very fortunate to have the volunteer Firefighters who selflessly step up, putting their lives on the line for the people not only in their community, but also surrounding communities when the need arises. These devoted individuals give their own time for training and courses to ensure they are able to put forth their best in any situation that arises.
The specialized equipme nt needed to provide fast and potentially life saving action comes with a huge price tag.
In addition to the support the RM’s give their local fire departments, grants and donations, ongoing fundraising efforts must be done to assist in the maintenance of the existing equipment and procurement of new equipment.
