Belmont & District Museum hold Appreciation Day
An annual Appreciation Day was held for the Belmont and District Museum this past weekend, with a large crowd turning out to enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch and explore the history of the area.
The delicious BBQ lunch was enjoyed by many, history and addendum books were available for purchase and the ‘Belmont has Talent basket that will be raffled off at the end of the season was on display with tickets being sold at $2 for one ticket, or $5 for three tickets. The basket contains many gorgeous hand crafted items created, and generously donated by people within the community; Paverpol garden art, a hand knit baby sweater, hand knit lap blanket, bird house, “Alex and the Druids Eclipse”, Adam Lake painting, wooden bowl and hand forged fork, $50 gift certificate for Listening Touch Osteopathy, and a Stonehouse wooden board. The draw for this gorgeous basket of goodies will be done at the end of the season. The proceeds from the sale of tickets for the Belmont has Talent basket will be used for the new display project.
If you haven’t been to the Museum this year, (and even if you have there is no reason not to go back), why not stop in during the Belmont Town Wide Yard Sale being held August 3rd!
The yard sales run from 9 – 12.
The Fireman BBQ starts at 12. Our local firefighters are GRILL MASTERS turning out the best hot dogs and hamburgers you can imagine!
Music in the Park from 12 – 4 featuring live entertainment and local vendors at the Sports Grounds.
Kids crafts and games will be happening from 1-4.
