Huge crowd attends Harvest Moon Supper
Sunday, September 22, the Belmont Hall was filled with people wanting an authentic Fall Supper and they were not disappointed!
The Hall was decorated beautifully in a fall theme and a very large Harvest Moon backdrop behind the decorated stage.
The Belmont Music in the Park Committee worked very hard to ensure an amazing spread was put out, and they definitely outdid themselves, serving approximately 400 people, and although they had anticipated a slightly smaller crowd, they had more than enough food for everyone.
The feast included turkey, meatballs, mashed potatoes and so much more, and then there were the desserts! An immense variety of so many different delicacies it was almost impossible to choose just one.
They also provided a huge variety of gluten free options.
The meal was simply perfect.
From the onset at 4:30 p.m., every seat was filled and there was a growing line of those anxiously waiting to take the spots of anyone who had finished.
A delightful couple from Winnipeg were out for a leisurely drive with a stop to visit friends along the way and were delighted to find a Fall Supper to attend. “These suppers always serve good, wholesome food and the variety they have here is outstanding. A wonderful home cooked meal at a price that can’t be beat. It is so much cheaper than going out to eat in Winnipeg and it tastes great.”
The town of Belmont and every surrounding town was well represented at the supper.
Vicki Gillingham, one of the organizers of this event said; “We are very happy with the outcome. While this was a tremendous amount of work for the team, it was very rewarding to see the number of people who supported the event.”
Congratulations to the volunteers who came together to make this event happen.
You did a fantastic job and we are all hoping you plan to do it again next year.
