Pelican Lake Ag Society hosts successful fundraiser
The Pelican Lake Ag Society hosted a fundraising dinner, comedy show and dance on the weekend, and by all accounts it was fantastic.
The comedy show featured everyone’s favourite comedian, Big Daddy Tazz.
Tazz is a well seasoned and very sought after comedian who has made an indelible mark on the world with his comedic ease and ability to instantly connect to a crowd.
I was fortunate enough to meet Tazz many years ago at a fundraising event and was immediately struck by his genuine kindness and caring nature, and even though we had just met, he made me feel like we had been friends forever.
Tazz has conquered many things during his life and that has made him the man we all love. There is nothing this man can not do!
Radio, TV, comedy clubs, festivals and so much more, but something that many people don’t know is that he is also a top notch motivational speaker and mental health advocate.
Eight years ago Tazz was nominated as one of ‘Our Manitoba Heroes’. Tazz was humbled and overwhelmed at the recognition, and at the time said, “being recognized for the Hero Award for my community work was such a grand honour. I was in such lovely company with past honourees. My family was so very proud, and it stands as one of my favourite accomplishments.”
Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of meeting, listening to, or working with this great man all say the same thing, he is a man among men!
I think fellow comedian John Wing said it best. “To call someone who works as hard as Tazz does, ‘a man with problems’, is to wish those problems upon oneself. And I would have told Tazz the same thing, but he never shut up long enough for me to get it in. A beautiful man who should spend more time seeing his own beauty.”
